  14. Working within the community to develop and deliver physical activity programmes (5 credits)

Exams and assessments

There is one theory exam: 30 multiple choice questions, with 23 needed to pass. If you miss the mark you can retake it, and we support you until you pass.

You also complete nine practical assessments, delivering real training sessions while a qualified assessor observes. By the end you will have planned and led gym sessions, group classes, indoor cycling, circuits and more.

Attendance

Funded courses have required learning hours, so attendance matters. There is a 30 minute grace period for late arrival or early departure, and any time missed is made up during lunch the same day. If an emergency stops you finishing, you can rejoin the next course cycle and complete your outstanding work.

Can you get a free place?

A funded place costs you nothing if all four of these are true:

  • You are aged 19 or over
  • You are currently receiving benefits
  • You are not enrolled on any other funded course
  • You are not employed for more than 16 hours per week

Not sure, or not eligible? Apply anyway. We will talk your options through, including our new self-funded places. More on the funding page.
